This complete set of 32 valve guide seals covers every valve on 2001 - 2010 LB7, LLY, LBZ and LMM 6.6 Liter Duramax engines in Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks and 2006 - 2010 Express and Savana vans. Valve guide seals control how much oil reaches the valve stems. As they harden and wear with age and heat, oil gets drawn past the stems into the combustion chambers, causing oil consumption, blue smoke at startup, and carbon buildup.

Any time the cylinder heads are off for head gaskets, valve work or a rebuild, a fresh set of seals is cheap insurance.

How many valve guide seals does my engine need?

The 6.6 Liter Duramax has 4 valves per cylinder, so a full engine takes 32 seals. This pack covers both heads.

Why did I receive red seals instead of blue (or blue instead of red)?

The seals may come in either color. Both fit and perform the same.

Will these fit my 2011 - 2016 LML?

When should I replace my valve guide seals?

Whenever the cylinder heads are removed for head gaskets, valve work or an engine rebuild. Replacing them while the heads are already apart costs very little extra.
