This Grade C multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket fits the right (passenger) side of 2001 - 2016 LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM and LML 6.6 Liter Duramax engines, plus 2010 - 2016 LGH Express/Savana vans. It replaces GM 12637788 (formerly 98045057). Grade C is the thickest of the factory head gasket grades, at 1.05 mm compressed.

It's the common choice for rebuilds and for heads or blocks that have been resurfaced. It can be used safely with up to.008 Inch of combined machining and with cylinder overbores up to.040 Inch. Outside those limits, piston-to-head clearance must be checked before assembly.

Installation Note

If total machining exceeds.008 Inch or the cylinders are bored more than.040 Inch over, measure piston protrusion and piston-to-head clearance before final assembly. Always use new head bolts or quality head studs.
