Water Pump to Water Pump Cover Seal, Duramax 2001-2016

This O-ring seals the back of the water pump to the water pump cover on the 6.6 Liter Duramax in 2001-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 trucks. It's made from Epdm rubber, the right compound for engine coolant, and sized to the factory seal. When the original seal hardens and flattens with age, coolant can weep from between the pump and the cover.

Is this the same as the water pump to engine cover seal?

No. That seal, GM 94013304, seals the back of the water pump to the engine front cover. This one seals the water pump to the water pump cover.

A water pump job uses both, and both are included in our Water Pump Gasket Kit, Duramax 2001 - 2016.

Is this a genuine GM part?

No. It's an Epdm O-ring made to the factory size, bagged by Merchant Automotive.
